I went ice skating once in high school. I didn't fall, but that is only because I never let go of the side! I have found a much better use for ice skates these days. In the middle of summer I stumbled upon a garage sale with 3 different pairs of vintage ice skates. These tiny little size 13 skates were too cute to pass up. I knew that as soon as Christmas came around, I would decorate them up and put them on display!
Aqua is one of my very favorite colors and I couldn't pass up these aqua picks from Michael's. White, silver and aqua are pretty colors together no matter what time of year it is!
I didn't glue anything onto the skates, so I can change them around any time I want. I definitely like to use ice skates for decorating purposes instead of ice skating!
I have been so lucky lately and have won some really great giveaways. Tracie at Fishtail Cottage was having one heck of a giveaway and I was lucky enough to be one of the many winners! This pretty little salt shaker ornament is what I won. It was created by Debi at Garden Party. Thank you both, Tracie and Debi, for the chance to win such wonderful goodies!
Two weeks until Christmas...are you ready? I am getting there, slowly but surely!

ReplyDeleteYour skates look adorable, so pretty with the aqua ribbon. Love the fact that you did glue anything to them so if you want to change your color scheme from year to year you can.
Wonderful idea and beautifully exacuted!
Have a great week!
You are brilliant! I love what you have done with your skates. And I think you are so smart not to glue it all down. I do that too, because I know I am going to want to change it up.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing with us.

Your skates are charming and so wise of you to not alter them permanently. I passed up some at the thrift store the other day because I didn't know what to do with them. Bummer! Yours are so cute! I'm your newest follower and I hope you can pop over to Cottage and Creek and follow back. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

The skates look just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVerry cute! I love the way you decorate!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas
I used to skate as a girl. I still have my skates and put them on my porch with my children's fathers sled. Can't use either of them any more for their original purpose, but they look nice on the porch at Christmas time. Love the colors you used.
ReplyDeleteOh how cute! I love the ribbon for the ties! If I'd have bought something during the summer, I'd have lost it by now! You were really thinking ahead!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining me here for Pearls and Lace Thursday and sharing your lovelies with us!
Blessings, Doni
