It is okay if you think I am crazy, I am pretty sure Cody already thought I was and the neighbors surely do after seeing me complete this latest project! But my cute bird houses on my front porch needed a little pick me up and these sweet little buntings were just what they needed. Plus they were fun to make and I used up some scraps. I think that makes them even better!
Here are the birdhouses before. Don't get me wrong, I love them just as they are! But they definitely needed something extra. The first bunting is made with a string of white pearls with lace flags and single white pearls in the middle.
I think I might have to make a real life version of this for my dining room. I love this pretty pearl and lace bunting even in its miniature size!
My big birdhouse that is made out of reclaimed barn wood has a burlap banner with white roses. The scraps of burlap have the cutest little fringe on the bottom. It was blowing in the breeze that we had this afternoon as I took pictures.
I think the burlap looks fantastic up against the barn wood. I just scotch taped all the bunting on to the houses to see how they looked. I am sure my neighbors thought I was a kook as I sat on the front porch taping these things onto the birdhouses. But I don't care!
My vintage doorknob birdhouse is decked out in patriotic colors. I made one at first and then quickly went in to make another after I saw how perfectly it fit on the eaves of the roof!
Red, white and blue are perfect summer colors all summer long! Hopefully these will last through the heat and weather. I may have to make bunting for my birdhouses for every holiday and season...yep, I will definitely be doing that!
See how much more fun and festive my birdhouses now look? So glad I took the time to create buntings for all of them.
I think I am becoming quite the bunting queen. They are fun and easy to make and I love coming up with new ideas and designs for them. Today birdhouses, tomorrow the world!

ReplyDeleteYou made my day.
LOVE YA my sweet friend!
The birdhouses were so fun before the buntings that they had to be cool after them.
ReplyDeleteMakes sense to me. Buntings, why not?
ReplyDeleteGreat birdhouses, I am a first time visitor from Nifty Thrifty. I love your background. Kathy

ReplyDeleteI love the bunting on your birdhouses. I've been know to add miniature Christmas lights to the inside birdhouses to make them festive. So if you are crazy, so am I :) I'm visiting from Cottage Garden Party.
ReplyDeleteThis is an adorable way to make your birdhouses look lived in ;) I have some old birdhouses that look like your barn board house ... I just may add some rustic bunting to them as well (before they rot away completely!). Wendy (followed you over from Fishtail Cottage)
ReplyDeleteOh, what sweet little banners! Each one is just fabulous...love the lacy one with pearls so much!! Cheers, Catherine
ReplyDeleteIf you have time to make banners for your birdhouses, you can over an make some for mine - they would look adorable. But, I have a garden crying for help, laundry, windows, etc. I wish I had the time to do something so cute.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! I'm now looking at my sparrow family bird box and how that can be prettied up! xx
ReplyDeleteThey are ready for some fancy birds to move right in. Even birdies like a little bling! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

Hi Trisha Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteOMG, what treasures you have created. I mean what little bird would not just love to move right on in. I can't pick a favorite, I love them all. They really gave the houses new life, and have encouraged me to give mine here at Country Wings in Phoenix a little lift as well. I will have to see what I can do to bring it to life. Thank you so much for sharing with me this evening.
Thank you also for your kind words about Bruiser. It's going to take me some serious time for my heart to stop hurting. He was one in a million.
Have a glorious weekend sweet friend. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
