I just love it when I find something I have been looking for! As soon as I stepped into the estate sale today, I laid my eyes on this amazing metal cart. The fact that it was half price really sweetened the deal. I paid $10 for this cart and I can't wait to refinish it soon.
It looks so perfect next to my vintage metal stool out on the patio. So here is my question for all my friends, what color should I paint it? Yellow to match my stool? Aqua, pink and red are all going to be considered or do I paint it it's original ivory color? What would you do?
As soon as I get it painted, I am going to get it all set up to use it as a little bar out on the patio. I am really looking forward to warmer weather and get togethers and this cart is making me even more antsy for warm weather to arrive!
This morning I decided to put together a little coffee bar on my vintage liquor cabinet. My parent's got us this Keurig for Christmas and I hated having it on the counter. My liquor cabinet in the dining room is the perfect place for it.
My white server holds all the necessary things for a great cup of coffee. Cups on top, cream and sugar on the bottom, Stevia, agave, flavored coffee and tea are all held in vintage tart tins on the side. There should be something for everyone!
Even though I personally don't drink coffee, I am loving my little coffee bar set up! I also love that I can just brew some hot water quickly for tea or cocoa.
I can't wait to hear what color you think I should paint my cart...you always have the best ideas!

Hi Trish... love your little cart!... the first color that came to mind was Robins egg blue... that would be so pretty on your patio!... love your little coffee station too... and I would also love to visit and sip a cup with you... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteI vote for aqua because it will be a perfect compliment to the yellow vintage stool. Great find! Have fun with it.

Your new cart would look so cute in a bright fun color! I like the idea of your coffee bar...all set up and ready to go for those coffee lovers!

I love these old carts!
ReplyDeleteI would restore it's original color. That way when you set up the bar you can use fun colored accessories that will pop against the neutral shelfs!
What a find and a great bargain, Trisha! I think aqua would be fun color, and would be bright and cheery for your bar this summer, plus a nice contrast to your yellow stool. I love your coffee bar, you look so organized! Great idea to use the mini tart tins to hold the tea and coffee!
ReplyDeleteI love your cart! I have one as well that was redone. It is painted yellow but instead of the chrome bars, mine are painted white. If you want to take a look here's the link, http://awalkinthecountryside.blogspot.com/2012/05/beverage-cart-reveal.html
ReplyDeleteI love it, what a deal! I think it would be so pretty in a light blue or aqua.
ReplyDeleteI love it, what a find. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeletebright green! That is what popped into my head.
ReplyDeletelove ya!
I found one of these also at a garage sale! The idea to turn it into a little bar is a great idea....can't wait to see what you paint it and how you set it up....

ReplyDeleteI vote aqua for the outside! If it was coming inside I'd think about the red. I have that exact same stool - it was my grandmum's!

Thanks for bringing your creativity to Seasonal Sundays.

Oh, what a great find. I first thought a teal blue....but red would be wonderful too! No matter what color you choose, it is going to look wonderful!! Happy VTT
ReplyDeleteI can relate to your cart and chair. We had both. Now, wish I had kept them. You just cannot keep everything.
ReplyDeleteAdorable cart and whatever color you choose will be wonderful. My first thought before seeing the choices was PINK, lol,but that's me! Enjoyed my visit to your blog from Jann's party!

Trisha, love the cart! All of the colors you are thinking would be wonderful. I would probably go with aqua. Love how it looks with yellow and it's one of my favorite colors. But then red and yellow are fabulous too! Like I say, You can't go wrong. Can't wait to see! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

Hi Trish,
ReplyDeleteI have the exact same cart I found in NH when visiting and it is red. I had thought of painting it pink but it's in great condition and decided to leave it red. So...I would paint it pink if I had yours. Can't wait to see what you decide. Just love the cart.
Hugs, Lynnie
I would go with aqua or mint!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great piece! I would go with a shabby white ... can't wait to see what you do! Thanks so much for sharing at Amaze Me Monday...
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Cindy
