Framed Chalkboard

I know I'm a little behind in the chalkboard game, but I finally found the perfect frame for one!
My favorite thrift store was having a 50% off sale and this frame was part of it.  It had a canvas in it and the lady thought that is why I bought it.  Of course I didn't tell her the truth, that I just wanted the frame!
Gold is definitely not my thing so some white spray paint to the rescue!  My hubby cut me a piece of wood and I painted on the chalkboard paint.
It's sitting on my buffet in the bonus room where I have it decorated for winter.  I quickly added a sweet little chalk drawing.
I can't wait to change it with the holidays, seasons and meals!  I will also be investing in some fancy chalk and practicing my lettering skills.
We also just got a vintage inspired record player and now we are always record shopping it seems!  I've already bought some fun Christmas albums that I can't wait to listen to next Christmas.

  6. Love the frame Trisha! I'm not a big fan of gold either. I know that it is really popular right now. It really looks cute white and your chalkboard art is great! Mine is waiting for me to erase the winter message and change it to Valentines. :) Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  7. I think you did a marvelous job! ... and your hand lettering is already pretty darned good!

Is that an old wood and plaster frame that was gold leafed? No - don't tell me LOL. You made it perfect for what you like and that's all that matters. Especially when you do it so well!

    Happy Pink Saturday!

  8. I have a chalkboard similar in my kitchen I use it for grocery lists. I think I need some help on lettering though. You need to pick up a vintage Elvis Christmas Album to play on that record player==nothing better!
