Oh how I wish I had a big, beautiful porch to decorate for each season. Since I don't, I do my best to make my little front step look festive and welcoming. My old milk can is the perfect vessel for some lovely fall foliage.
Cody and I went to his work shop yesterday and the canal was loaded with cattails that were in perfect condition. I grabbed some scissors and cut a bunch to take home. I knew I could figure out a way to use them for fall decorating.
I had also stopped by Michael's on Friday and picked up these pretty glittery silk flowers. They were 99 cents each and I love the colors. These came in handy too!
The wired ribbon with pumpkins I had from last year and I didn't realize it until I put it all together, but the colors match perfectly. This little milk can makeover was turning into quite a little happy accident of a project!
This project only cost me about $3 and it makes such a bold statement. My little front step is looking like it is ready for fall now! I just need to find a cute pumpkin to set on my terracotta candle holder and it will be perfect.
Can I just tell you how happy I am that it is September? Not only do I have a birthday in September, but I am loving the cooler weather and I can't wait for everything that fall brings!

It is great how the milk can fits perfectly in that space. Beautifully styled for fall.
Hi Trisha,
I think your decorations are adorable. I am so excited that the "Ber" months are here...September, October, etc. My favorite time of the year. Of course, you will feel fall slipping in before I will. The MS Gulf Coast is a late fall bloomer! I am visiting from Nifty Thrifty Tuesday and am a new follower of yours. I wold love for you to stop by Still Woods Farmhouse for a visit and to follow along if you like.
Blessings from Still Woods Farmhouse
Hello fellow Virgo...Happy BD to us! Your porch is adorable, you have done more with your steps than I have on my whole porch.

Trisha,
Your Fall décor is perfect for this season. I love the bright colors of the flowers. Jess has a small porch too, so she has to make do, like you.
It sounds like you love Autumn as much as I do, my friend.
Love,
~Sheri
Great fall accents! The milk can does make a perfect accent with the cattails. The wreath and the welcome garland set it all up just as nicely as a big porch could!
Love those "happy accidents! This turner out great! Cattails have always been fascinating to me. Thanks for linking up with Inspired Sunday.
The cattails are perfect for Fall Trisha. I love them in the milk can. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
