Working on Idaho's oldest college campus definitely has its perks. Like working in this historic building for instance. It is an old home that has been very well preserved and it feels very cozy. Originally built in 1910, it is full of beautiful details that you just don't see these days. Today I wanted to show you the amazing stained glass windows.
This one is probably my favorite even though they are all beautiful. This particular one is in my managers office. I would love to have it in my own home!
This one is in the bathroom on our floor. I am not sure what it is but it is definitely unique and it keeps the bathroom window private!
This one can be seen from my office. I love how grand it is. Someone spent so much time putting in all these details. It is in the staircase and the way the sun shines through it each morning is simply glorious!
This sunrise scene is above the last window. I actually designed a sympathy card for the college using this particular window. It is very peaceful and calming.
And this grape one is in the formal dining room. It doesn't have a light source behind it so you don't get the full effect of it but it is still lovely!
The front entrance is equally impressive. The beveled glass door is surrounded by these amazing panes of detailed beveled glass. And the dark wood is just gorgeous!
Right now they are doing abatement on the outside of the building so it is covered in plastic. Once that is all done and it looks pretty, I will show you pictures from the outside. I hope to get some pictures of the lovely interior soon, including my amazing craft closet!
Here it is in 1917 when the Blatchley family donated their home to the College. Man how this area has changed over the years! Luckily, the College as well as the Register of Historical Places knows what a gem this is and keeps it in very good shape.
All this beautiful stained glass makes me want to take it up myself. I remember my mom used to dabble in it but I don't think she has any of it anymore. Have you ever tried it? Did you love it?
