Vintage Chenille Bedspread

I love it when I find something that I have been on the look out for at a great price.  Vintage Chenille has been on my list for awhile and last weekend I hit the jackpot!  I found this amazing Chenille bedspread at a yard sale for $12!
It is pink with white roses--2 of my favorite things and it is in excellent condition.  I intend to use it in my camper, but until then, it is being used on our bed.  I love the size of and the way it drapes over all 3 sides of the bed so well.
The lady was selling quite a few Chenille pieces but I only bought one.  Of course now I am kicking myself for not buying more at such a great price.
I am sure Cody just loves having pink and roses on our bed, but he never says anything and goes with it. This isn't the first pink and roses thing he has had to endure!  I do let him do what he wants on his side of the bedroom.  You might see guns and Hot Wheels in some of these pictures.
I only see a few of the pom poms missing on this bedspread which isn't bad for this vintage piece.  I believe it is Fieldcrest Imperial Rose and according to Etsy, I could have easily paid over $200 for this!  I love a deal that good.
This is going to look good in my camper but I think I will have to find more Chenille so I can have one in the camper and one at home!

My Vintage Camper

Someone forgot the batteries for their camera this weekend...that someone was me!  So I didn't get any interior shots of my vintage camper but my crappy phone did take some nice outside shots.  It was a lovely weekend and we did nothing but what we wanted to do.  I wish it wasn't over so quickly.

We bought this camper 3 months before we got married 5 years ago, right before the big vintage camper craze hit.  We paid $500 for it and it was in excellent shape.  Cody painted the outside, we put in hardwood flooring, painted the cabinets, reupholstered the cushions and made new curtains.  We could have sold this sweet camper five times over for triple what we paid for it.  The only way I would ever sell it is if we found another vintage camper in such great shape that had a bathroom!

It is a 1967 Oasis from Bellflower, California.  It is tiny, only 14 feet long but perfect for the 2 of us and our 2 fur babies.  We put the dinette down for them and they each have their own beds.  I love to cook meals for us in here and do the dishes in my peach sink.  I have to pump the water but it is such a fun little camper that I don't mind it a bit.
Hopefully next time we go up to the mountains, I will remember my camera batteries and I can take some great interior shots.  There are so many things I want to do to the inside but it is perfect just the way it is if I never get around to doing all of it!

Patriotic Kitchen Island

Even though we are spending the 4th of July in the mountains, I still had to bust out the patriotic decor!  I got this kitchen island at a yard sale that we had at work and I decided to put all of my red, white and blue kitchen stuff on it.
The top is decorated with lots of red, white and blue including some of the crafts I made to take with us up camping to decorate our camper.
I actually had more red, white and blue than I thought!  It was fun pulling it out and setting it on my new island.

This little silverware caddy is made out of empty tin cans that I painted in patriotic colors.  I glued all the cans on a wooden dowel, put some ribbon around all of them and then attached a felt rose to the front of each can.  It is perfect for BBQ's and camping!
This rag garland was fun to make using red, white and blue patriotic fabric that I ripped into strips and tied to a piece of twine.  It will look even better hanging in my camper.
This little wreath is made the same way as the garland, I just tied the strips around a metal hanger that is shaped in  circle.  This will hang on my camper door soon enough.
I am loving my patriotic island in the kitchen but here is my question for you--what color should I paint it?  White like everything else or a totally different color altogether?
This dresser was also obtained from the yard sale we had at work.  No one bought it so they gave it to me knowing I would repaint it and make it look better.  I had no intention of keeping it but Cody got a hold of it, painted it and decided we would use it in the living room for our entertainment center.  I love it!

We had to raise everything up a bit on the wall  but it really looks great and surprisingly takes up less room than the smaller unit we had there before.  And yes, I happened to be watching Friends when I took this picture!  It is my all-time favorite show and I could watch nothing but Friends for the rest of my life!

I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July!  It occurred to me that I have never shared with you my vintage camper...I better remember to take some pictures this time so I can share it with you!
