Vintage Stool Repainted

I finally got around to painting my vintage Cosco stool. I like the way it turned out so it was definitely worth the wait! Can I just tell you that I am not a fan of having to mask things off in order to paint around them?! My husband, who paints cars for a living, couldn't stand to watch me paint this. I will admit I did a horrible job in some places, but it was too hot outside to care too much!
The yellow Krylon spray paint was an almost identical match to the original paint. You can check out the before pictures of this stool here. I did have to do a bit of sanding first and then I primed it. Hopefully it won't go back to rust too soon.It looks wonderful sitting in front of my chippy white door. You have seen the other side of this door here. I think I like the chippier side the best! This stool is the perfect little plant holder out on the patio.
We have decorated it up with a little wooden pansie banner and some old insulator caps. If we need an extra chair, it would work for that too!
I am happy with the way it turned out. Thanks to everyone who weighed in on the paint or not to paint debate!

An update on Baby Travis: the treatment looks like it is starting to work. His swelling has gone down and they will be doing Chemotherapy every Wednesday while making sure that he is not feeling any pain. Thank you to everyone who offered up their prayers...they are greatly appreciated and still needed!

Updating the lemon yellow was a good choice here! Did you use Rustoleum?

Love your step stool, I think you did a great job painting! I'm with you on masking, ugh. I just picked up a aqua one at a yard sale for $2 haven't painted it, yet! I'm your newest follower!

Well, the stool is just "so vintagey", it's cute either way,
but I think you made a good decision to paint it. I have a red one just like it, but it's a repro.

Lovely job you have done on the stool. I'm another who doesn't like masking!

Trisha your stool turned out so cute. The color is a perfect match. You did a great job. I have a red one, but it's a reproduction from target. I'm sorry, I don't know the story about baby Travis but I am so happy that he is doing better. I will pray for him. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.

We had one of these stools in my home growing up. It was the chair we always sat on to have our mom do our hair. I wish I could find one. I love your redo! I would love for you to share on my weekly Linky Party Blog Stalking Thursday!

We had one just like this, except ours never got a makeover. You did great on painting it. Looks new to me. They do not make stools as good as that anymore.

My stepmom has the stool that was my grandmother's, she put my name on the bottom so that I will get it when she passes away. It is red, I would much prefer yellow, I just might paint it!

I just love those old stools. My daughter just found one at Goodwill and has it in her sewing room. I'm so jealous.

Well, this makes me smile! I grew up with one of these in our family kitchen. It was yellow just like yours. I spent a lot of time sitting on this step stool. Your post has stirred up images in my memory of that kitchen ~ home sweet home.
