Aqua Cart Love

The winning color by a long shot was aqua and that made me so happy!  I secretly wanted it to be aqua so when that was the major winner, I knew it was meant to be.  I planned on using spray paint to paint it but my amazing husband had another trick up his sleeve.  He took it to work and painted it in the paint booth with auto paint!  He paints cars so this cart will pretty much last forever now!
It is a metallic aqua color and has a bit of sparkle in it.  I tried to get a picture of the sparkles but it just wasn't turning out.  Aqua and sparkles-the best combination!
Here is a before and after so you can remember what it looked like.  I really did consider leaving it white so that the accessories I add would stand out, but I couldn't resist this color!
I played around this morning setting up the bar.  It is still too cold outside to have a party, but I can play until then!  I shopped my house and found some great stuff to set it up.
Come on over to my party and have something in the pitcher, probably margaritas!  Or there is wine, mixers and shots.  I have stir sticks, a citrus juicer, bottle opener and cork screw in the coconut.
The middle shelf has a martini shaker and a cute little wooden box with mini shots, fun cups and straws.  The wooden box will be getting a makeover soon as well!
The bottom shelf has a bucket of beers and a cloche that is just waiting for something fun to be under it.  Hopefully there is something for everyone whenever they come to a party at our house!
I love my little cart and am really looking forward to warmer weather so that we can host some friends and family for a BBQ.  I think we are all ready for them!
So I really wanted another little something to paint since this cart turned out so great.  I forgot about this old metal TV tray that I got last summer at a yard sale.  I think it would be the perfect accessory for my cart.  Now here is the question-what color should I paint this one?  Red or pink?
It is hard to tell now, but they will go perfect together once the tray is painted.  I think Cody will paint this at work too and might even redo my stool so that they will last longer.  Can't wait to share that with you too!
We had our appointment at the fertility doctor on Thursday and got some not so good news.  It turns out that Cody has no swimmers so that is why we haven't been able to have any babies.  We can do further testing to see if he is producing swimmers that may be stuck somewhere, but we have no money so I just don't know what to do.  It could be an easy fix but it could be much more than that.  We have a lot of thinking to do and as you can imagine I am devastated by this news.  Your prayers would be greatly appreciated!

I just love your new cart, Trisha! Wow, you didn't waste any time making it over! Cody did an awesome job, the auto paint will last forever, much longer than spray paint would! It looks great decked out with your bar ware, what time is happy hour?:) I vote pink (as in hot pink!) for the tv tray, that would be so fun, and so retro, I think! I was wondering if you'd had your appt. yet or not. I am so sorry that the news was disappointing! I am sending you an extra big hug, and prayers too. Hang in there!!

That looks great, Trisha. I love having stuff painted at an auto body shop. We have even had refrigerators painted there in the past.

I am saying a prayer for you and your baby situation, Trisha. I hope that you can figure out some way to pay for hubs to get "fixed" and that it is an easy fix. God bless you, honey. I am so sorry- xo Diana

Stopping by from the DIY Sunday Showcase and was wowed by your aqua cart. I have a white one too in my basement, maybe she needs to come out for a cool makeover like yours-- except I don't have a hubby who can spray paint it for me! Lucky girl!

These carts are perfect for outdoor entertaining and yours turned out great!

As a survivor of the fertility wars, make sure you have a clear focus of how much you want to do and what your life's plans are. We never had the baby of our own, but were blessed with a niece who needed us as her adopted parents. Life is funny sometimes. I keep you in my prayers.

It looks great in that shade of aqua and I would go with red for the tv tray. Thanks for sharing at my party.

Your heart must be breaking. It makes me think of this scripture...

"Be still and know that I am God."

He has a plan for you my friend, that I am sure of.

Big Hugs and much love to you both.

Good Morning Trisha and Happy Spring!
Oh, give that husband of yours a "Big Hug", he did a fantastic job on your cart. I'm sure that it looks better than the day it came off the assembly-line, back in 1950. Love the color and the vintage style. You are going to get a lot of pleasure out of your cart.
Have a lovely weekend.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)

OH WOW!!! What a great job!! I think your hubby deserves a huge hug for his brilliant idea! It turned out so pretty! And to compliment it, hmmmm, I love both red and pink, but what does your heart long for???
Do you serve things with reds or pinks??? I lean towards pink, but if hubs is painting it with some sparkle paint with car paint, then RED!!
LOVELY!!! So glad you shared it with us for my Pearls and Lace Party!!!
Blessings,
Doni
