Shabby Chic Bridal Shower

My niece is getting married on June 24th and I am planning her wedding.  I also got to plan her Bridal Shower.  We had it this past weekend and I wanted to share some of the few photos I took.
I got to do whatever I wanted to do for this shower so of course I did what I love--Shabby Chic, Roses, Pink, Aqua and White.  The first thing I did was design the invitations.  We held the shower in the building that I work in.  It's an old house with a living room and dining room downstairs.  It worked out perfectly and even though it was hot as heck, it was free and you can't complain about that!
Since my theme was things I love, I used things I already had to decorate.  The outside porch greeted people with this adorable vignette.  A little old ladder, some pretty lace, a rag garland, aqua ampersand and a mason jar filled with colored water, babies breath and pink roses was my favorite decoration of them all!
I kind of went crazy and made sure everything went together.  The water bottles had labels that matched the invites.  I also made matching paper cones for homemade caramel corn but I didn't get a picture of them.
Instead of having a traditional guest book for people to sign, I bought my niece an address book that people wrote their name and address in.  This way she has all the names of her guests plus their addresses for sending out thank you cards!
I took their engagement pictures on Mother's Day and printed some out to hang on the mirror above the mantle.  I made another rag garland and decorated white lanterns with pink roses and aqua ribbon.  Another mason jar of flowers adds the finishing touch.
My mom, sister, sister-in-law and I made all the treats.  Since the shower was held at 2:00 in the afternoon, we opted to do all desserts.  I got to bring all of my white metal serving stuff to display all the food on.
We had cake, cupcakes, sugar cookies, brownies, caramel corn, chocolate covered pretzels, wedding mints and fruit.  For party favors, I put 2 Hershey's Kisses in a spoon, wrapped it in tulle, tied it with a ribbon and a matching tag that said "A spoonful of kisses from the soon to be Mrs."
My mom made the cake and I made a matching banner that said "B loves J".   We didn't even cut the cake so we sent it home with the bride to give to her groom.
Bri got a lot of great stuff and I think this ironing board lady is the cutest.  What a clever idea for a wedding shower gift!
We played games, like this one where you had to draw a picture of the wedding dress on top of your head.  Easier said than done!
And here is my sweet little niece wearing the bow hat I made for her.  Out of all the presents she got, there were only 2 bows which made for a pretty sad bow hat!

I had so much fun planning my nieces shower and can't wait for her wedding!

That's such a great idea about the address book instead of a guest book. I love that idea. Thanks for sharing this with us at the Dishing It & Digging It Link Party. I hope you made some new friends and had a good time. Have a great week!

That’s super adorable bridal shower and I had a wonderful time watching these photos. I am also getting married soon at one of destination wedding venues in New Mexico so my sister threw a beautiful vintage party for me. I totally enjoyed the eve a lot.
